The Gift of Preparedness

I’m Jamie Caplan and my emergency preparedness gift boxes help people to stay safe in emergencies. As an emergency management professional, I know first hand that a crisis can happen at any time. As a mom, I can’t bear the thought of my family (including my dogs) not having what they need if we face a crisis.

Being prepared is not just for rare acts of terrorism, floods, hurricanes, tornados, and earthquakes; it is also necessary for power losses after a snowstorm or thunderstorm or for when you are stranded in your car due to traffic or car failure.

The Federal Department of Homeland Security is trying to get people to prepare for the unexpected by having everyone put together an emergency supply kit. But this can feel like another task on the “to do list”.
